Emergency Medical Technician (EMT*)

Industry Certificate Training

Study to become an Emergency Medical Technician. Learn CPR, triage and patient assessment, treatment of shock, hemorrhage, unconscious patient, fractures, traumatic injuries, medical emergencies and light extrication. This course of study includes 168 hours of classroom theory. An additional 48 hours of field and hospital practicums provide hands-on training through clinical assignments in the emergency department (12 hours) and with emergency medical services (36 hours).
Students can choose from day or evening classes with two courses offered each fall and spring semester and one in the summer semester.

** Minimum $200 deposit required upon registration. Total course cost ($1,500) may be paid by credit card (via online payment option) or arrangements may be made to pay by Purchase Order or RSU Works Payment Plan (four monthly payments). Additional program costs: Uniform, background check, drug test and immunizations – estimated $350-$500. Deposit and payments are non-refundable.

Class Details

The EMT* Industry Certification Training allows adult students to achieve EMT certification and Oklahoma licensing. The program does not require courses to be taken for college credit and no admission to the university is required.

Workforce Outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this EMT course will receive a Certificate of Completion from RSU Works (Rogers State University’s workforce training program) and be eligible to apply for the National Registry EMT Examination (NREMT). *Successful completion of the NREMT exam allows you to apply for state licensing and begin practice as a licensed EMT.

Payment Schedule

All students must pay a $200 registration cost upon enrollment for EMT Industry Certification Training.  This $200 payment will be applied to the total $1,500 cost for the program.  The entire $1,500 fee can also be paid as a one-time payment or  the following payment plan is available:
